Kids Want to Soccer Drills that are Fun

Children love to play soccer. They are also more amenable to training than adults. This is because kids look at training as a fun session whereas adults tend to perceive it as a chore.

Designing kids soccer drills that enhance the fun factor is important in order to attract more youngsters to the sport. You do not want to turn kids off the game with drills that are boring, too strenuous or conducted by overly strict personnel. Kids turn up at training to play and have fun so you must incorporate fun and realistic game situations into their routines.

If you mix discipline with fun, kids soccer drills can be highly beneficial in building character as well as grooming the next generation of soccer stars. Kids are naturally curious and look up to you as their coach.

With kids, it is best to keep drills to the minimum and spend most of the training session playing a practice game.

You can start by having a few warm-up drills and then ask the kids to perform some routines to improve their ball skills. There should be no more than five or six soccer drills before you go to the game.

For the practice match, divide the participants into two teams and play a game. Ask the kids to try to implement some of the moves they learned during the drills and, by all means, stop the game now and again to emphasise points of strategy or skill.
